Barbecue Area

On those balmy summers night what better than to enjoy a barbecue with your fellow guests, using our barbecue area.

Quarry

The quarry is one of the special features of the park, the remnants of mans toils to extract minerals from the earth, nature has now claimed back the land and wildlife including Rabbits, Pheasants and deer can often be seen as you take a stroll.

Walking, Hiking and Rambling

Whether you are simply looking for somewhere to go for a pleasant stroll or looking for something more adventurous the Esk Valley has something to offer.
The Lyke Wake Walk, Cleveland Way and the Eskdale circular walk are all popular local routes, combined with which there are many more local paths and bridleways open to the public.

Fishing

Both sea and freshwater fishing are available locally. Sea fishing can be either from the shore, piers and jetties or on one of the many charter vessels that operate out of the local harbours.
freshwater fishing is available on the local reservoir or on some stretches of the river Esk.

We would be glad to try and assist you in finding a suitable days fishing while you are staying with us.

Local amenities

Local amenities in Sleights comprise General Dealers, a Butcher, Post Office, Fish and Chip shop. At Grosmont there is a Co-op, Post Office, Craft Shop, Gallery and If your taste extends to a pint in a country pub you will be spoilt for choice with the bar meals and ales available within the hostelries nestling in the local countryside.  Whitby is some five miles away with a direct bus service adjacent to the park.
